Discover Psalm 52 Commentary in detail, with their Bible study and explained, as well as their meaning in the Catholic Bible among others.
Why do you boast of wickedness, you mighty one?
God’s mercy is continuous.
Grudges plot your tongue;
As a razor sharp knife makes cheating.
You loved evil more than good,
lies more than speaking righteousness. Selah
You have loved all kinds of evil words,
Therefore, God will destroy you forever;
He will snatch you from your dwelling place
and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
And the righteous shall see and fear;
and they will laugh at him, saying:
Behold the man who did not make God his strength,
but trusted in the multitude of his riches
and remained in his wickedness.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
I will praise you forever because you have done it;
and I will wait in your name, because it is good, in front of your saints.

Psalm 52 - Matthew Henry Bible Commentary
Those who think to rely on power and wealth, without God, are miserably deceived. The evil man trusts in the abundance of his riches; he thinks that his wickedness will help him preserve his wealth. Good or bad, he would get what he could and keep it, and ruin anyone who stood in his way; he thinks this will strengthen him; but, see what it comes down to! -Those who by faith and love live in the house of God will be like green olive trees.
